The Challenge

To achieve its goal of becoming Australia's #1 digital bank,

payments platform transformation must accelerate. Legacy systems, obsolescence, operational overhead, and a global pandemic were slowing down progress.

In addition, engineers required both technical upskilling and cultural evolution

to drive innovation at the required pace.

Enabled scaling high-volume (80K monthly transactions) and high-value ($10B USD monthly value) payments.

Cut payment operations toil by 94% and automated 100% of next-day reconciliation break reporting 

MVP for SWIFT MT to MX rewrite in line with ISO20022.

Four payment systems migrated to cloud and SaaS solutions

Delivered feature parity and migration of 25.6K business banking users to a new business-critical payment digital channel

Eliminated 100% obsolescence risk with 0 client impacting production incidents.

Developed and deployed payments solution to ensure branch operations continuity during COVID-19.

Decommissioned three legacy desktop payments applications.
